    0 - 1000m GT-R, Z06 and Ford GT

I've been searching but couldn't come up with anything, does anyone have any info for all 3 cars in the 1000m test ?

    Thanks...

    Re: 0 - 1000m GT-R, Z06 and Ford GT

1/2 mile test? I don't think anyone's run this test. At least not all back to back.

    The GT-R pulled a 3.3sec 0-60 (confirmed independently).

I would probably guess in the half mile, the Ford GT would come in first, followed by the GT-R, and then the Z06.

My bet would be on the Z06 before the GT-R.

    Re: 0 - 1000m GT-R, Z06 and Ford GT

well the Z06 got to 100 mph faster when it was tested. by the half mile they will be doing way more than that.

and the FGT isnt that fast. my guess is Z06, FGT, GTR.

    Re: 0 - 1000m GT-R, Z06 and Ford GT

Heist, it's not half mile test, it's 1km test which is commonly done...

    Re: 0 - 1000m GT-R, Z06 and Ford GT

    Nissan GT-R test by JARI

    0-1000m : 21,51 @ 245,5km/h ... not as good as the low speed acceleration

    Re: 0 - 1000m GT-R, Z06 and Ford GT

The early comparisons between the Z and the GT-R shows the Z being faster on the top end. GT-R was only quicker at the take off (hence 4 wheel drive).

According to Automobilismo, the 997TT achieved the following values:

    0-100 km/h: 3,90 (3,76) sec
    0-150 km/h: 7,38 (7,11) sec

    0-400 m: 11,97 (11,75) sec @ 191,10 (194,00) km/h

    0-1000 m: 21,76 (21,37) sec @ 244,10 (248,20) km/h

    Test conditions:
    Temperature: 33* C
    Air pressure: 1.013,6 hPa
    Humidity: 34,7%

Values in parentheses represent values with Sport Chrono ON.

    GT-R faster my ass .

    Re: 0 - 1000m GT-R, Z06 and Ford GT

Top End has always been the GTR's weak point

    Re: 0 - 1000m GT-R, Z06 and Ford GT

2 seconds is huge!! what happened to the GT-R?

    Re: 0 - 1000m GT-R, Z06 and Ford GT

    Track times from R&T comparison:

    911 Turbo:2:02.1

    Corvette Z06:2:02.2

    GT-R........1:56.9

Yikes! No top end for the GT-R. Good low, acceptable mid considering it's weight.

Damn, you think with two turbos this car would be screaming at the top end!

Then again, the Z06 has 7 liters (!!!) of displacement. You can't argue with that. Displacement is always king.

The Turbo has the best top-end, believe it or not, while the Corvette is king in the mid-range.

    Re: 0 - 1000m GT-R, Z06 and Ford GT

the GTR's acceleration seems to be more in line with that of the original Gallardo.

You serious? Google the tester and you will see why that statement is rediculous.

Nissan have certainly hit a jackpot with the GT-R drivetrain, luckily for Porsche enthusiasts. Now the TT facelift will need to handle at least as well, so PTM tweaks are a real possibility.
Funny enough, I'm pretty sure that the Turbo with the old AWD and the same power would come very close if not match the GT-R.

I initially hoped likewise, but if the TT-facelift ends up being more like lipstick than weightlifting, we might realistically need the 998-TT, with much more engineering effort and development time, to trump what Nissan has done.

The other problem that others have noted is that Nissan has completely gone for the performance jugular with the GT-R...no pretence at grand touring here, while Porsche has increasingly positioned the TT as a fast GT with the ride/handling balance to carry that off. Really trumping the GT-R with the TT will mean a tilt back to performance, and I'm not sure if the majority of TT buyers really want a TT that is that edgy... will be interesting whatever happens.

You don't need to tilt towards anything. The Achiles' heel of the TT is its electronic AWD system, which provides less traction and predictability than the 996TT viscous AWD. So much so, that many serious track enthusiasts in Europe are switching the PTM for the old AWD.

Simply reprogram the AWD, mildly revise the suspension (just look at how good the Bilstein PSS10 are, despite keeping all the comfort) and launch the GT-R killer. It's already faster in the straight line, all it needs now are handling improvements.

    Re: 0 - 1000m GT-R, Z06 and Ford GT

People should also realize that Steve Millen is a Nissan factory driver, and is also sponsoring a "Nissan appreciation day"

so, no bias in the testing......

    Re: 0 - 1000m GT-R, Z06 and Ford GT

That's a good point, although I would think that a driver of that calibre would not compromise their reputation like that. Perhaps you could argue that he is more familiar with the GTR than the other two cars. Still, 5 secs is a lot of familiarisation!

    Re: 0 - 1000m GT-R, Z06 and Ford GT

I wonder if the GT-R had've lost in that test, would more buyers be attracted to GM and Porsche ?
