Smiley I'm almost tempted. If I could stand another round of depreciation.

Same here, exactly! Smiley  I've lost around £24k on our current Boxster, £15k on the last one - that's nearly £40,000 gone in two cars in 3 1/2 years  without including £2.5k for the two year extended warranty and service....SmileyAnd whilst the new Cayman S is an amazing piece of kit it isn't the thick end of £30k better than the car I've got. A blast round The 'Ring with Porschejeck in October opened my eyes to the brilliance of the Boxster - and PJ's skills behind the wheel Smiley

And knowing Porsche dealers I would be offered bottom book trade and minimal if any discount on a new car. Forget it. Smiley Even if I was tempted by a generous sweetener of free floor mats and a key fob. Smiley

Happy Christmas, wtsnet - we must get together again somewhen in the New Year Smiley

Notice the steering complaint. I bet it is the thicker rim. Thicker rims, although nice, do filter some vibrations.

You got a key fob? Smiley Smiley Lucky you! Nah, actually, I got mats, fob(s) AND a couple of litres of oil. Shame wasn't Mobil 1, but the gesture was nice.

NY sounds like a good plan. All the best to yourself, and all our friends on the board across the globe.

I'm about 30k down on mine. Mind you, that's before the bottom dropped out of the world financial system. That's only about 7.5k a year. Smiley  Or about 9.5k with consumables.

You got TWO key fobs - I was refused a second one because I had genuine Porsche floor mats....Smiley not forgetting a bottle of (cheap) champagne..Smiley

My next car change, likely in spring 2010, will probably chop in the Boxster and Linda's Jazz shopping trolley for a Bimmer 135i auto... or if I'm feeling silly an M3 coupe (low mileage used - £58k new optioned up no more than 6 months old £40k or less) - and that's on BMW dealer forecourts.  Now that's SERIOUS depreciation! Smiley

DC, you can't imagine how much I hate the winter - missing the holy tarmac Smiley
Let's see whether we can make it even more of a blast next season with some ponies more under the bonnet Smiley
Regarding depreciation: smart shoppers buy used P-cars with low mileage these days Smiley
I know it's more emotional with a new car, but after all it's not like a pre-owned girl Smiley, it's only metal Smiley

Having said that I really don't care about depreciation anymore, as the Boxster will be a keeper Smiley BTW I did let the PZ do some extra checks a couple of days ago considering the track abuse of the car (suspension etc.): everything o.k. - I'm impressed Smiley

Well that's another option I will seriously consider when the time comes - as long as the personal cashflow is up to runing three cars - it will be a really sad day when I do part company, that's for sure. Meanwhile, plenty of time for some more European miles! Smiley Smiley

Actually, Porsche are so desperate to sell they are offering way above book at the moment.  Still no discounts though

I was in my OPC a couple of months ago and their "group policy" (Inchcape) was to only offer book prices in px - and that was when they did all they could to sell me a low mileage demo 997 C4S (gen 1) for nearly as much money as a new C2S (Gen 2). Needless to say the car is still for sale on their forecourt!!! Smiley

With the new Cayman S some £25k LESS than that Gen 1 C4S I would now be as sick as a parrot if I'd been stupid enough to buy it! Smiley
