    The Panamera pricing could surprise a few people, I hope the preliminary numbers I just heard aren't true. The Panamera Turbo starting at around 150000(!) EUR (incl. 19% german VAT)? Porsche must be nuts if true.

    I would put the Panamera into the same price range as the Cayenne, maybe we're lucky and Porsche is re-considering the planned price range due to the current world financial crisis.

    150000 EUR for the Panamera Turbo? Even if this car beats the BMW M3 on the Nordschleife, it isn't worth it.

    The S class AMG with similar power is 135K EUR and the CLS AMG 110K EUR.

    The Turbo should be around 125K EUR IMO. Unless of course it is fully loaded with air suspension, PDCC etc. as standard in which case a premium would be justified.

    Of course I don't know how many AMGs Mercedes manage to sell at these high prices.

    If they fix the price so high at 150K EUR, then it means that Porsche want to promote the NA models and keep the turbo as a very special limited model.

    My local Mercedes dealer, one of the largest factory reps(not a private dealer) in the region,   gives a lot of rebate to move their cars. Porsche dealers usually give 3-5% on new cars, sometimes up to 9 or 10% if they use the "single day registration trick".

    In comparison: Mercedes works with rebates between 10 and 20%, sometimes even more.

    HUGE difference.

    I wouldn't mind if the Panamera was in the Cayenne price range, even if I still think that the Cayenne Turbo is heavily overpriced compared to the "S" and "GTS".

    Porsche needs some "air" to the upper price range since a Panamera Turbo S and even a Panamera GT are planned for the future. Asking 150000 EUR (incl. 19% german VAT) for the Turbo would be way too much, they'd need to ask 170000 for the Turbo S and over 220000 EUR for the GT, too much in my opinion.

    The Rapide looks a bit disproportionate and slightly bloated compared with the sleek concept car. Highly uninspiring design.

    In dark colours, Panamera will look pretty good IMO...

    Nice catch Misha!  I think it looks ugly on the pics, in paticular the size is too big. SmileySmiley
