    GT3 window & NoS quiz

When I entered my hotel room in the Eifel this weekend the view out of the window offered a special panorama - pure coincidence, but I had to take some pics Smiley 3-win.jpg 4-win.jpg 5-win.jpg 6-orange.jpg

I simply love this baby Smiley

Now for the quiz Smiley I did an organized track walk Saturday evening - really impressive to learn the track from a completely different pedestrian perspective Smiley

I'm sure the Swiss brothers Smiley and Gauss can tell us which corner it is Smiley

Of course everybody knows the Caroussel - but what's wrong with the graffiti on the second pic Smiley 11-ka.jpg

Re: GT3 window & NoS quiz

I was astonished to meet a former colleague of mine on the track. Actually I wasn't aware that he's a total P-car and NoS addict since two decades. His race prepped 911 SC is unbelievable - weight < 900 kg Smiley NoS laptime 8 minutes with this Oldie Smiley

Re: GT3 window & NoS quiz

Complete different experience were some pax-laps with a buddy in his 997 TT tuned for track abuse: 610 hp, KW suspension etc. pp. Jeez - the thrust was unbelievabel Smiley When I switched back behind the wheel of my GT3 I thought the engine is broken Smiley

But still the verdict of the buddy (experienced track driver - Swiss Porsche Sports Cup driver: Cram may know him Smiley): the track tuned TT is very nice on NoS, but on a conventional track he would prefer the GT3 Smiley

It never ends to amaze me to watch this wide range of P-cars (from the old 911 SC racer to the highly tuned 997 TT) being used for what they're made for on NoS - and they all go strong Smiley

I love your pics !!! And the rims of the RS are my favourites !

A frind of mine make a Corvette Z06 as his NoS track toy and he beats the hell out of the Gt3, the Scuderia and even the Gt2. ( before he had 996 tuned TT and RS 95) . Tuning a car to the N Ring will make a huge difference, plus the drivers abilities will make the biggest difference. If you know the track, your car and have big balls...you will lap faster then the others, even if you have a supposedly inferior car....

Nice shots of the track. I would like to loop it on a bike this year as you simply dont get the full appreciation of the topograhpics in the car.

Indeed the first pictures is the most difficult, but I once had to park my car there briefly during a race...

the next two are great shots of famous sections where you need to be crazy or have biggggg Bs...

Re: GT3 window & NoS quiz

Not sure on the first bend but the two others are from Schwedenkreuz and Aremberg

and on the drawn map, the Caroussel is on a different section than the one that's being indicated by that drawn finger lol.

on second thought, my guess for the first bend would be Hocheichen ?

PJ thanks for the pics. I think i'll be there in september for the scuderia course. Have to see with my Bro.

Which guy is from the Swiss P cup. Have you got his name or picture.

the 2 last one are not schwedenkreuz and aremberg.

Aremberg has kiessbett in the curve and goes direction Fuchsröhre just like Schwedenkreuz which is leading just before Aremberg.

Really hard to say like this with not much indications

The finger is pointed on Bergwerk or even Flugplatz and not Caroussel

the Kiessbett is on the other side of the curve. The photos have been taken facing in the opposite direction.

Re: GT3 window & NoS quiz

The second and the third are at the same place or same section and you drive from the top towards the bottom

Re: GT3 window & NoS quiz

The picture taken are going from the top towards the bottom and not from the bottom towards the top. The drive way is top to bottom, i' m certain about that.

Now if you are taking your saying it would mean that you would come out of Hatzenbach towards Flugplatz then Schwedenkreuz and then Aremberg to end direction Fuchsröhre.

Well Gauss i finally think that i'll join you. The bridge direction fuchsröhre must just not been on the picture. The picture has been taken to the wrong driving direction

Re: GT3 window & NoS quiz

    Cram:

    Yes Smiley

Gauss has scored 100 points in the NoS quiz Smiley

Pic 1: Hocheichen (also against the driving direction)

One of the few sections, where even the Michelin Cups squeal though I try to corner smoothly Smiley It's really amazing to study the elevation change, camber, different tarmac as a pedestrian.

Pic 2: View from Aremberg towards Schwedenkreuz (against driving direction)

If you have a sharp eye you even can spot the actual Schwedenkreuz (big cross made of stone) in the background (behind the fence)

Pic 3: Aremberg (also against driving direction)

impressive to examine the various conditions of the surface in this corner: from rubber covered to washed out old asphalt it has everything.

BTW for the fans of the Scuderia white dots: the dot indicating turn-in for Aremberg is a bit too late IMO Smiley

Graffiti : I think the finger is pointing at Bergwerk - I wonder whether someone tries to fool some 24h newbies with this graffiti Smiley

@ fritz: after the VW/Porsche "merger" breeding may be the only way to create any new Porsches which deserve the Porsche name Smiley

@ Gnil: when it comes to tuning I think it should be done in the following order: (i) tune the driver (ii) inflate ba..s of tuned driver Smiley (iii) tune car... For the time being I struggle with (ii)...Schwedenkreuz...Mutkurve...Smiley

@ TEE: instead of using a bike you could participate in the 24h bicycle race on the 'Ring Smiley Actually the guy driving the race prepped 911 SC did it last year - Fuchsröhre at 100 km/h Smiley

@ Cram: the Swiss guy should be the only one driving a red 964 RS in the Swiss Porsche Sports Cup Smiley
