Don't like. It seems  the cheaper version of the Aventador......

Re: Gallardo replacement soon to be revealed

I like it. Looks better than the last version of the Gallardo IMO. kiss

In the same way the Cayman is the cheaper version of the 911. That's the way brand identity and product placement works, nothing wrong with it.

Re: Gallardo replacement soon to be revealed

Other than DCT, I don't see the appeal of this car at will probably be like $280-300K in decent spec. Used Aventador for me. Performance will be similar, but the Aventador is way cool and will have already seen a decent amount of depreciation.

Re: Gallardo replacement soon to be revealed

The Aventador is too big for European roads.

Re: Gallardo replacement soon to be revealed

Don't like at all! I repeat it seems the cheaper version of the Aventador....

If you can afford this car, you can also afford to pay the fines for non displaying the plate.

Beautiful; at least the Photoshop version.  Seems a bit "smoother" / "softer" than the Aventador kiss

    Interesting weeks ahead.

This (looks great so far) and the new Ferrari California, 50kg lighter, 560hp V8 Biturbo, more stylish. Also something to look forward to.

It is Cabrera and I agree, I don't have a clue why Lamborghini doesn't stick to the name Gallardo, I actually like it and everyone knows this car by now.

The same reason why the Aventador isn´t called Murcielago. Lambo apparently has a different strategy, instead of evolving its existing models they have their model range defined but claim every car is an entirely new model inside those classes. it does give them the chance to reinvent themselves with every car and not be tied down to what a previous generation stood for.

Re: Gallardo replacement soon to be revealed

Murcielago wasn't really a good name in my opinion, Aventador is much nicer. Gallardo is also quite nice, so I would keep it. At some point, they will run out of (nice) names.

Given the limited number of models Lamborghini has produced in its fifty years of existence, it is doubtful it will ever run out of suitable names.

Lamborghini is as much about marketing as it is about engineering to produce super cars that, of course, is evident from looking at Audi's choice for CEO of Lamborghini, Stephan Winkelman and the image he conveys for the brand.  Using a new name for a new model gives Lamborghini increased press coverage, and hence, greater marketing presence with a limited outlay in funds.  If Lamborghini, for example, kept the name Gallardo for the new model, it would need to launch an expensive media campaign to promote the fact of a new model.  Now, with a name change, once the popular media sources cite the new name, there is some recognition of newness amongst the masses.

I think it doesn't really matter if we write Carbonara, sorry, Cabrera with an unpronounced "r" or without it. Smiley

And I have to disagree, Murciélago was brilliant, if it was pronounced correctly. Smiley

Just order Spaghetti Cabrera instead of Carbonara at your favorite Italian and see what happens. Smiley Smiley

Murcielago, even if pronounced correctly (which 90% of the people I know never do, same goes to the brand name Lamborghini too...they pronounce the gh as "gji" and not a silent "g"), doesn't sound right in my opinion. Too much, too complicated. A car model name needs to be short and concise. Aventador is very nice, so is Gallardo (and yes, even here, most people I know don't pronounce it correctly) but Huracan? Hure is the German expression for prostitute and overall, I don't think it sounds good.

Maybe Uracan would sound nicer. Reminds me a little bit of Uracco (classic Lamborghini mode).
